Mom's Birthday!

Yesterday, October 5th, was Mom's birthday! She's a very low maintenance birthday person, so all she wanted was for us to let her relax all day. A couple friends of hers kindly offered to take the little kids so she could have lunch with her brother and sister and just be alone for awhile. Landon, Kate, Isaac, and Jackson went with Billie to Cowtown from mid-morning to around 4 in the afternoon while Jonah spent time with the Gardners. The house was so quiet we almost didn't know what to do.
So... we decided to go to Walmart and buy fake nails! Yes. For my mom's birthday we all put on fake french manicure nails. And it was awesome. We laughed and laughed when Mom accidentally glued her fingers together. They don't look too bad for being only $5.

Later that evening, the Gardners brought back Jonah and we had a little party.
Jackson just couldn't make it that long. He had had a tiring day at Cowtown.

I decided I wanted to put a candle on her brownies for every year of her life. She did not like that idea. But I figured after a whole day of catering to her (well, most of the day anyway...) I could go ahead and do this one thing.

Isaac's special present to Mom was accidentally breaking one of her IKEA picture frames.
Dad, the repairman, to the rescue!

Notice all the dirty dishes.
This is how we party.

Mom had trouble blowing out all the candles. She ended up spitting on a whole pan of brownies.
She will not be amused that I publicly posted that.
But I think it's funny.

After dessert, Mom requested that we all go downstairs and play a few rounds of...

Family Feud - Wii style!

It was actually pretty fun.
Turns out we know a lot of 3 letter acronyms for government agencies.

One of our favorite Wii games is Just Dance.

This game became popular with us during Cousin Camp. Our cousin, Gibson, and Landon would play it - and they were GOOD! They got their hips into it and everything. Such a crack-up.

After working up a sweat, we all talked for a while and then Mom's birthday was over!
I think it was a success.
