Give Thanks

Here are a few things that each of us are thankful for.

Glynne-Kyle and family.

Ally-The new baby, of course, and I'm thankful I can drive.

Me-I'm thankful for sooo many things, but I'll try to keep it short.
I'm very thankful for the new baby, and that he/she is healthy. I'm thankful that God loves
me, and that I'll get to go to heaven. I'm also thankful we have a house that fits us all,
that we have food, and that God gave us kids the most amazing parents.

Landon-Uh, I'm thankful we have a good Christian family. I'm thankful for all our toys,
and that we have lots of people in our family so we won't get bored.

Kate-Uh, my family and our razor and stuff.

Isaac-I'm thankful for my family and for our house, and that Aunt Lauren
and Uncle Kyle are having a kid.

Jackson-I'm thankful for God, and the new baby, and Mom and Dad.

Mom-I'm thankful that I"m almost done being pregnant.

Dad-So many things! Mostly my wonderful wife and awesome kids whom I adore.
Besides, of course, that Jesus loves me.

Putting up Christmas

Awhile back, Mom and I decided to make new stockings for everyone.
Before Jack and Jonah were born, we made our first stockings about eight years ago.
They've held up pretty well for being hand-sewn by kids 10 and younger and made out of
felt, but now that we are going to add yet another kid, we decided to just start over.

I was super bored one evening and started decorating
the house for Christmas. If you know me, you know I love to decorate.
So Mom watched football while I got all the Christmas stuff out.

These pillows are Mom's latest project.
I think she's making ornaments next.

Grandma Candy found this reindeer at a garage sale for $10, and I
cut the ugly bow that was around its neck off and hung it up.

After I moved the furniture, there was a big empty spot where the tree is suppose to go.
I begged Dad to go buy a tree so it would look pretty when we woke up. Dad finally gave
in after we bribed him with a dad, daughters, and Kyle trip to Lowe's in
Ponca City at 8:00 at night!
 Love ya, Dad!

Another one of Mom's projects was to make a tree skirt out of
 burlap sacks from Junk Generation.
It ended up being more of an apron, but still looked good.

Our ladder is at the rental house right now, so Kyle
had to make do with what we had. It probably wasn't very safe.

The next day Glynne helped the kids make salt dough ornaments
and Mom put the finishing touches on the tree.

Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they
will walk in the light of your presence, Lord.

Jonah's Birthday

Jonah turns two today! Mom decided that we were going to have a small family
party with donuts and a couple balloons in the morning. After that, Mom, Dad, and I are
going to go over to the rental house to finish up the last bit of work.

Mom got him a Melissa and Doug double-decker, and Jonah wouldn't
even eat his doughnut after he unwrapped it.

I still remember sitting in bed every night and praying that Mom and
Dad would have just one more kid. I am incredibly thankful that God answered my prayers.
I love Jonah sooo much. He makes me happy no matter
what mood I'm in. Love you, buddy!

"Have faith in God," Jesus answered, truly I tell you, if anyone says to
this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in their
heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you
have received it, and it will be yours.

Ornaments

Every year each of us kids gets a new ornament to put on the tree.
This year Mom thought it would be fun if we took a field trip
to Ponca City to let the kids pick out their
 own ornaments at Hobby Lobby.

The kids were so excited.

That's Jonah's silly face. He is so cute!

Before we went into the store, Mom
 gave them four rules:

Don't run.
Be quiet.
Stick with a partner.
The ornaments are fragile so
 don't pick them up.

They still managed to break two.

We got Glynne a Cinderella carriage. When she was little she was obsessed
with Cinderella. She turned eighteen this year so this will be her last ornament.
When I mentioned that to Mom, she almost started to cry.

Ally got a little coffee maker.

Mine is a cowboy boot that says-
"Country Music Makes My Heart Sing."

Landon's says -
"I'd Rather be Hunting."

Kate's is a remote. She loves the show Full House and
has probably watched every episode at least three times.
So when Ally found this for Kate, we
all thought it was perfect.

Isaac is the fisherman of the family.
So his fishing ornament fit him perfectly.

Jack got a football snow globe.

Mom handed Jonah the first ornament she saw that wouldn't break
so he would be entertained while everyone else picked theirs
out, which happened to be an airplane. He was sooo happy
the whole time, I think everyone was thankful for that.

On the way home, we stopped at a gas station and we all got hot chocolate.
It was the perfect way to end a great day!

And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time
we shall reap if we do not grow weary.
