Quick Update!

We have all been bugging Mom to get Jonah's hair cut.
She's been putting it off (with good reason...) for awhile now
and finally convinced herself to brave it today.

The first time Jonah got his hair cut he was super fussy, the room
was full of other people in line, and Mom was frustrated. The
barber felt so bad he didn't even make her pay.

The second time she attempted to get it cut was even worse.
Mom sat Jonah on her lap and Dad held his head while he yelled and tried to get
off the chair. You could still hear him yelling from three stores over.
We even have it on video. It was awful.

So, before we left this morning to go to Wal-mart we sat Jonah in a chair, wrapped
a towel around him, and showed him how they were going to cut his hair.
Then we (Mom, Jonah, Jenna, and I) loaded up...
 and prayed.

Mom and I were amazed when he went right into the chair
without a word and sat quietly the whole time. We didn't even have to bribe
him with gum! Jenna, on the other hand, was not as good.
 Love her anyway!

I think Mom was very happy (and relieved) when it was over. Until next time!

The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched
land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered
garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

Right at This Moment

Things are moving very slowly at our house this morning. Mom is trying
to get out of the house to go to the bank to cash checks and to run some stuff by the
rental house. She ends up forgetting the checks and has to come all the
way back home until she finally makes it out the door. And, of course, the whole time
Jonah is hanging all over her and making Jenna cry. Meanwhile...

I pull Jack off the TV to see if he can hook up the
new headphones and CD player he got. I end up grabbing an
old Toby Mac CD and show him how to do it.

He put the headphones on and was like, ahh they feel so good.

Ally is sitting in her quiet room reading.

And I'm also trying to get Isaac away from the TV.
Every time I walk away he turns it back on.
 Mister sneaky...

I took these pictures of Jonah and Jenna a couple of days
ago and thought that I'd share a few with you.

We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like
fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power
is from God, not from ourselves.

Christmas Morning!

For many years now Mom and Dad have always put the presents
under the tree and stuffed the stockings after the kids go to bed on Christmas Eve.
This year Glynne, Dad, "Ally," and I set the presents out
while Mom took Jonah and Jenna to bed.

I made the cinnamon-rolls, while Dad made a fancy
breakfast casserole thing that was super yummy!

This is the only night of the year the kids actually want to go to bed.
We should have Christmas everyday!

7:30 Christmas morning...

8:00 a.m.

Jonah was pretty hard to wake up until we told him
Santa came to our house last night.
He LOVES Santa!

8:15 a.m.

Before we read the Christmas story, Dad explained to Jonah who Jesus is.

Anytime anyone said anything to Jonah about Jesus he would drag whoever it
was over to our nativity scene and show them the "baby Jesus."

8:35 a.m.

Dad is always "Santa" at our house and makes sure the
 presents are all distributed evenly.

Jenna's first Christmas! She was probably thinking why
God gave her to such a crazy family! LOVE her!

Us kids all draw names so we can get each other special
presents. I drew Landon and since he likes to read, I got him 16 of his
favorite, some of my favorite, and some new books to read.
 I think he was happy!

Dad picked out these gorilla slippers for Jack,
the look on his face when he opened them was adorable!

Mom got Glynne two wedding planner books.
She got engaged two days ago and was super happy!
(I will write a blog about her engagement as soon as we get the pictures!)

9:30 a.m.

We always open our stockings last. Drag it out as long as you can, right?

Well, hope everyone had a very merry Christmas!

Humility is the fear of the Lord; its wages are riches and honor and life.
In the paths of the wicked are snares and pitfalls, but those who
preserve their life stay far from them. Start children off on the way they should
go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.
